Thirteen years ago, Wayne Devine's heart sank when he watched able-bodied children enjoying the swings at his local park while a child in a wheelchair was unable to
join in. Instead of walking away, Wayne was compelled to do something about it. Drawing on his experience in building and designing conventional playgrounds, the
charitable Sydneysider began work on a special swing that gives disabled children (and adults) the chance to "fly through the air and feel the breeze on their faces".

Variety Children's Lifeline Partners with Water Missions International for Hurricane Katrina Relief
Charleston, SC, September 8, 2005 - California-based medical charity Variety Children's Lifeline has pledged to match the next $250,000 in donations received by Water Missions International (WMI) for Hurricane Katrina relief. The $500,000 that this initiative can raise would fund water purification units to provide clean, safe water for tens of thousands of hurricane survivors.

The Variety Club Sunshine Coach Program
Since 1966, Variety Club has been providing specially-equipped vans to meet the transportation needs of children in hospitals and shelters, special schools and nonprofit organizations. These vans, called Sunshine Coaches, are donated to two worthy organizations to transport children for their special medical, physical and educational needs... moving them into the sunshine of life- an opportunity all children should have.
